It seems that golden days are back for Motorola, the Lenovo-owned company shipped more than 10 million smartphones in the Quarter ending December 2014. It is the largest shipment of smartphones by Motorola in any single quarter in the history of company.
Motorola thought that these number can increase very soon because the company just entered in the world’s biggest smartphone market “China”. Before this Motorola operates a limited number of markets so company definitely get the benefit of this market I upcoming months.
Lenovo note in a press release “Motorola shipped more than 10 million units, up 118 percent year-over-year, adding US$1.9 billion to MBG’s revenues. Soon to re-enter China, Motorola is on track to be profitable within 4-6 quarters of close”.
Lenovo also claimed that the combined smartphone shipments of Lenovo and Motorola brand acquire the 6.6 percent market share of smartphone.
Moto X (2nd Gen) gets 1 million pre-booking in China, that why Lenovo is so hopeful towards the Chinese smartphone market. Company president Rick Osterloh, Moto X (2nd Gen) has received over a million pre-bookings and the number continues to go up. So its good shine company.
